The number of free slot machine slots in the football stadiums in Italy is dwindling.
A new law aims to tackle this problem by reducing the number of machines available in the stadiums.
“There is not enough slots available for sports fans in Italy.
We are working on this,” said Minister of Sport Andrea Poggio, as quoted by Il Sole 24 Ore.
According to a spokesperson for the Minister of the Interior, “Free slot machines” are a problem because the machines are not “free” to use.
They are available at the entrance, but there are also “restricted” slots available at some other places in the stadium.
Poggio added that they will also reduce the number to two to make the machines free.
There are currently more than 500 slots available in most sports bars in Italy, according to the Italian Sports Union.
“Free slots are a waste of space,” said a spokesperson of the Sports Club of Rome.
This is not the first time the government has been working to address the problem.
According to the Italian National Police, there are between 1,200 and 1,500 slot machines in the venues in Rome alone.
Italy is currently the worst country in the world for slot machines as it has the highest number of slots per capita in Europe.
The country has one of the lowest rates of slot machine usage in Europe as well, according to the European Commission.
It also has the third-highest number of slot machines per capita.
